Specialty Products: Height Adjustment Spacers

Halex Height Adjustment Spacers are four foot lengths of 1/8 inch plywood that have been cut to the same width as regular carpet strip. They are packaged with 200 linear feet, or 50 pieces, per carton.


Proper Installation

When carpet is properly installed, the top surface of the carpet strip should be level with the top of the carpet cushion. The carpet will then lay flat and even all the way to the wall.

Waterfall Effect

Carpet strip is 1/4 inch thick and most cushion is 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick. This discrepancy creates a sloping or “waterfall” effect around the walls. Using Halex Height Adjustment Spacers will eliminate this effect, providing a perfectly even installation and allowing carpet to hook evenly and easily on both front and back rows of pins.

Other Uses

Halex Height Adjustment Spacers may also be used as general purpose shims to:

• Adjust levels when carpet meets ceramic tile or wood floors.
  
  
• Increase the height of metal mouldings in door ways and other transitional areas.
  
  
• Level cabinets.
